West Virginia

WEST VIRGINIA are undoubtedly Britain's most popular and hard worked Country Band. Originating in Liverpool they regularly work the length and breadth of the British Isles and abroad.
WEST VIRGINIA were formed in 1976 in Liverpool but came to the attention of Country Music fans in Britain nation-wide when they won the finals of the Marlboro Country Music talent competition in the Wembley Conference Centre in 1978. As a result of their win they embarked on a national theatre tour with the late Marty Robbins.
Since turning professional in 1983 they have received far more national acclaim, touring constantly throughout Britain. They also worked abroad, won many awards and are featured regularly at a wide variety of Country Music Festivals. For many years they have been employed five weeks each year as a resident band at Country Music Festivals presented by PONTINS. They have appeared on television and made many radio broadcasts, including BBC Radio Two's Country Club.
The band have a unique sound and their vocal harmony is incomparable. Keith Thornhill lead vocalist also plays rhythm guitar and brother Arthur plays bass guitar. Tony Peck plays drums, and Mike Brown plays lead guitar.
